Great Britain’s Chantelle Handy has signed a new deal with Piestanske Cajky in Slovakia’s top flight league.
The 6ft 2″ versatile Forward joins the new club following a successful season in Hungary Division A for Pinkk-Pecsi where in 23 games she tallied 9.1 PPG, 5.6 RPG & 1.7APG helping the team to the Semi-Finals. Handy also played 5 games in Eurocup where she recorded really solid numbers of 11.6 PPG, 5.2 RPG and 2.4 APG.
We got a chance to catch up with the GB star to find out more about her move.
“I’m excited about this new move and what me and my team have ahead of us this season. I played in Slovakia my first year out after college so I was excited to get the opportunity to return to the league.
“We have big goals this year and this was one of the main reason I decided to come to Piestany. We want to qualify for eurocup and go for the Slovakian championship.”
Handy also is excited for the eagerly anticipated Eurobasket qualifiers next month.
I’m excited about GB in November! It will be a challenge especially as we have two away games but I believe we will work hard and do our best to qualify for euro 2017.
We want to wish Chantelle all the success this season as well as for the upcoming GB games next month.
